Our Mission

We prioritize engagement.

We prioritize engagement.

Children benefit tremendously from a sense of connection with their peers and with patient  teenagers. Their brains crave variety. We offer 1-2 hour sessions of online interaction with a live teenage sitter through a safe online portal. The sitter will engage your child in specific activities. Your child will be the sole focus  of your sitter’s attention throughout the session. Our sitters will keep your child feeling interested. . You, the parent, will get an hour or two of time for your own activity (WFH meeting? Dinner prep? Damage control?), with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that your child is busy and happy.

Virtu-Sit offers a wide range of possible activities. Sessions are structured, but flexible and child-centered. If your child doesn’t want to complete the art project, or focus on a science topic, or needs to just take a break and hangout together, our sitters can navigate that. One of the character traits we select  for in our sitters is emotional intelligence. They can do what a computer alone cannot. With VirtuSit, your children are  not interacting with a screen – they’re spending time with a real person who wants to hear what they have to say, talk and play with them,  and help them create a memorable experience.

Our mission includes more than direct engagement with children. As Lower Merion School District students, we are also connected to our community. We care deeply about the  fact that some of our classmates and their families struggle with food insecurity.  VirtuSit will raise money to help address that problem: 25% of all our proceeds are committed for cash donation to two local food banks: the Narberth Community Food Bank and the Ardmore Food Pantry

Meet the Founder

Hi, I'm Harry.

I’m entering my freshman year at Harriton and the co-founder of VirtuSit. I had the idea to found this company during the shutdown, but really, I’ve been preparing for this my entire life. I was a pretty active, extremely curious little kid, and I’m still the kind of guy who always loves to be busy. With two younger sisters and two dogs, I’ve often taking on the family role of keeping the kids busy for an hour or so, while my parents get work done. I’ve been both the entertainer, and the entertained. I’m the oldest of 12 cousins, and am used to organizing shows and other activities at family gatherings. I know what it is like to engage a kid on their terms, while keeping things safe. My sisters, Molly, Simone and I all have different talents and interests. We are looking forward to sharing those with some new young friends
